Light Over Chepstow Castle is an original oil painting inspired by the calm and ever-changing light along the River Wye.

Chepstow Castle sits quietly above the water, its historic stone softened by atmosphere and reflection. Rather than focusing on fine architectural detail, this piece captures a moment of stillness — when light gently settles across the landscape and time feels momentarily paused.

Painted in warm, earthy tones with soft layers and subtle texture, this artwork reflects my connection to the local area and my love of expressive, atmospheric landscapes.

This piece forms part of my Wye Valley Collection, a series inspired by familiar landmarks interpreted through light, mood, and emotion rather than realism.
